KASUNGU (iReport): As one way of sourcing funds to refurbish and equip a library at Kasungu Boma community day secondary School, Kasungu lions club has organized an event dubbed Valentines Dinner and dance to be held at Kasungu Inn on 13th February, 2016.
The dinner and dance ceremony will be graced by Former Speaker of the national assembly Honorable Chimunthu Banda and is scheduled to start at 6 pm with an entry fee of K 15,000 per Couple.
Speaking in interview Kasungu Lions Club, third Vice president Lion Jones Banda said currently the school has no Library a thing which he said is hugely acting education.
“The school has had a building earmarked as a library lying idle for some time and it has moved Kasungu lions club to take a step in helping the school and also giving hope to the students.
Kasungu lions club is trying to raise funds and engage the cooperate world and other stakeholders to come in.” he said
Banda said the club is also building latrines in selected rural primary schools where sanitation situations force pupils especially girls out of school with a belief that by just maintaining and constructing a single toilet could make a difference in the lives of the students.
He said other well-wishers like the current leader of the August House, honorable Francis Kasaila has already contributed towards the projects.
Kasungu Lions club was formed in 2006 in older to help communities and making initiatives to find possible solutions to help alleviate some problems people are facing.
