LILONGWE (MaraviPost) – The Police service in Malawi has warned citizens in Malawi to desist from using camouflage attire saying some unscrupulous individuals have been taking advantage of the same to commit criminal acts.


For the past two weeks, Malawi has registered serious robberies in which the robbers disguised as members of the police service and defence force with camouflage attire.

Police deputy national police spokesperson Kingsley Dandaula said “it is a crime to use such attire in the country.”

He said the police service will work too and nail so that the behaviour arrested.

Wearing camouflage attire is outlawed in most African countries including Nigeria.
