BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Private schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM) has asked government to consider of extending examination registration by another week.
The appeal comes as exams registration were closed on 16th April this month to displeasure of various stakeholders including parents and students.
PRISAM trustee Dr Hastings Moloko told the news conference on Friday, April 23, 2021 in Blantyre that time that was given for the exams registration after Malawi school Certificate of Education (M.S.CE) results.
“We are i mild way through the month whereby most of Parents had exhausted their income.Let examination body consider us,” urges Moloko.
He further expressed concern that if the girls who have not registered yet will stay for another year at home before having a chance to register.
The nation may witness what happened when schools were closed due to the rising cases of Covid-19 and a good number of girls got pregnancies during the break.
PRISAM’s vision is to ensure that private schools have got good decent structures, also to facilitate the registration and accreditation of schools.
The grouping also to ensure that teachers are offered good perks and an opportunity to further their studies.
PRISAM was originally started years back with late Morton Chipimpha Mughogho of Phwezi foundation school as one of the founders.
