
Huawei company has sponsored 10 university students to go to China for ICT training through the program called seeds for the future.
According to the minister of information, Civic education and communication technology Mark Botomani said that these universities students who have been given this opportunity to visit China for ICT learning will help the country Malawi to be developed since they will learn a lot of things concerning ICT and will be able to bring those skills back home.
” We have the project called national fiber backbone which contains nationwide fiber backbone network for Malawi, and this is also funded by concessional loan from China and this will help the country Malawi to have enough network”, he said.
One of the students who is from DMI doing computer science Mwai bisibiliri said that this opportunity will help them to learn a lot in ICT.
” Am very grateful to be given this opportunity because what we learn in class is not what we meet out there but with this opportunity I will learn more and be able to relate with what I have been learning in class”, she said .
The Deputy management director of Huawei Titus Tasosa said that this opportunity will give them an opportunity to interact with other friends form different countries.
” This program which is seed for the future is the company which is different countries with the aim of learning different things from what others are doing in China when it comes to ICT”, he said.
Seeds for the future program an initiative aimed at providing ICT interventions in developing countries by selecting youth’s for ICT training in China.
