Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima to attend Compact2025 meeting in Washington, DC

Washington, D.C,  17 November 2015, (MaraviPost): According to a press invitation to the Maravi Post by Daniel Burnett, Media Relations Specialist for International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the youthful looking Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima is expected to attend Compact2025 to be held in Washington DC starting Thursday, November 19th 2015. 

 

The Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima is scheduled to participate in a press briefing this Thursday (11/19) on Compact2025, an ambitious effort to mobilize the world community to end hunger by working with countries, UN agencies, civil society, and the private sector.

 

 

According to the Media Release by Daniel Burnett, the organization believes that ending world hunger is a necessary step to ending world poverty by 2030, the central theme of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals recently agreed to by the world development community.

 

The Vice President Saulos Chilima is scheduled to meet with Malawians and Members of the Malawi Washington Association (MWA) tonight at Embassy of the Republic of Malawi Located on 2408 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington DC.

 

The Vice President is expected to make some remarks and Patricia Msaka-Kankondo VP of the Malawi Washington Association is expected to make brief remarks as well. The event is open to Malawians in the Washington, DC area.
