BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—A Malawian man in Dowa has finally succeeded in hanging himself to death after several attempts to end his life since 2005 had been hitting a snag as relatives were always alert to rescue him.
The man identified as Ganizani Sandram on Monday hanged himself to death, a fate which the deceased has been mentioning since 2005 according to Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Richard Kaponda who caught up with MANA.
“The deceased has been mentioning of killing himself by hanging since 2005 because he missed his father’s funeral ceremony as no one from his village called him to attend the service when his father died sometime back,” said Kaponda.
The deceased is reported to have been staying away from his village when his father passed on.
According to Kaponda, the development of not attending his biological father’s death has been bothering the deceased who have been mentioning of committing suicide one day for so many years.
He said the deceased has been attempting to hang himself on several occasions but relatives were rescuing him.
“On Monday when his wife was away, Sandram hanged himself and died, “said Kaponda.
Postmortem conducted by medical officials from the district showed that Sandram died due to suffocation according.
Sandram hailed from Kapilingiza village, Traditional Authority Msakambewa in the district.
