LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi police at Kanengo in the capital Lilongwe are keeping in custody a 23 year-old sex worker for allegedly stabbing client to death over payment disagreement for the service the latter rendered.Kanengo Police Station deputy spokesperson Salome Chibwana has identified the suspect as Pilirani Philimon while the deceased was Chisomo Kambalame, 20.

Police Publicist Chibwana told The Maravi Post on Tuesday, evening that Pilirani committed the crime on Monday at around 09:00 hours at Mchezi Trading center along Lilongwe-Salima road.

Chibwana said on this fateful day the client-Kambalame requested a short time service from the suspect who happen to be a sex worker but disagreement erupted over payment after the act was done.

“The suspect is said to be dissatisfied with the payment over the service she rendered to the deceased. This ended up Pilirani stabbing her client on the chest with the knife.

“Kambalame came out the room screaming heavily for help in a full of blood oozing from the neck. Well-wishers took the deceased to Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) where was pronounced dead upon arrival. Medical report revealed that Chisomo’s death was due to loss of blood.

“Consequently, the police apprehended Pilirani for allegedly killing a fellow human which is a murder charge. The suspect remains in our custody waiting to appear before court,” explained Chibwana.

The police are therefore appealing to the general public not to take the law in their hands when disagreements erupt but rather seek help from authorities.
