LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Annabel Mtalimanja has confirmed data manipulation for Ntcheu voters in the 2025 General Elections.
MEC Chairperson Mtalimanja told electoral stakeholders on Saturday night at National Tally Centre that the commission is resolving the matter before final results are provided to the public.
Mtalimanja also confirmed receiving results from 228 constituencies across the country, with only Nkhoma Constituency in Lilongwe yet to be submitted.
He added all results received from five councils Karonga, Ntchisi, Salima, Neno and Zomba city have been thoroughly checked and verified to ensure transparency.
She further advised that all complaints lodged will be considered in line with electoral laws and procedures, provided they are submitted in writing to MEC.
Mtalimanja also disclosed that results from Ntcheu are currently being withheld due to irregularities detected in some figures.
Despite the challenges, she assured Malawians that MEC remains committed to following all necessary procedures to guarantee credibility and peace in the electoral process.
The MEC Chairperson also commended stakeholders for upholding peace throughout the electoral period and urged the public not to tamper with or compromise results already posted at various constituencies and polling centres.
