
LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) on Monday told the nation that anti-Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Jane Ansah demonstration will start today to Friday in the capital Lilongwe.
HRDC told the news conference that the grouping went to meet the Lilongwe City assembly to discuss on how they will conduct the demos.
Apart from the resignation of the MEC chairperson, the group is proposing the prosecution of the police officer who teargased Queen Elizabeth central hospital leading to a death of the little child, and those who caused the injury of Billy Mayaya during Blantyre demonstrations.
Speaking with the HRDC member McDonald Sembereka therefore assured Malawians for a peaceful Match today.
Sembereka said after these demonstrations, Malawians from Blantyre and Mzuzu should be ready for another yet to be announced demonstrations.
