Bingu National Stadium not fit to host CAF games

Malawi’s Bingu Stadium not fit to host CAF games

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Confederations of African Football (Caf) has banned Bingu National Stadium from hosting Caf Champions League matches due to its poor condition.

This comes ahead of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ Caf Champions League match against Red Arrows from Zambia.

This means the people’s team will play away from home.

In a communication to all Member Associations, Bingu National Stadium has been excluded from the list of stadia approved for this year’s tournament.

Caf has indicated that the list of approved stadia is specifically for the Caf Champions League or Confederations Cup.

The ban comes one month before the Flames host Burundi in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers.

The stadium has been hosting Kenya as its home ground for its World Cup and Afcon games
