BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Cyclone Freddy survivors camping at Nalingula Primary School in the area of traditional Authority Kaduya in Phalombe District can now afford a smile following a donation of relief items by Chawezi Banda popularly known as Cha Cha.
Cha Cha who is the daughter of late Aleke Banda has managed to reach out to about 800 victims.
Some of the items donated including Washing Soap, Sugar, Salt, Maize Flour, cooking Oil, Soya pieces, Plastic Plates, Cups and Sanitory buckets among others.
According to Musician Gibo Pearson, Cha cha was the first Individual to make a donation at this camp.
“There is only one organization that came here whatever they donated ended and people have been starving but thanks to Cha Cha for being a answered prayer,” he said.
The Izathera mapenate star therefore lauded Cha Cha for the timely donation saying food has always been a challenge at the camp as survivors have been spending days without proper meals.
Pearson further asked well wishers to emulate what Cha Cha has done.
Speaking in an Interview on Sunday Cha Cha said as a Malawian she felt bad that many lives were lost and survivors had lost everything thus her support.
She further asked companies and the corporate world to hold hands in giving hope to those hopeless people in camps.
