BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—Malawi’s company specialized in Information and Communication and Technology, iMoSyS, in partnership with Malawi Agricultural & Investment Corporation (MAIIC) have donated 1,000 locally produced Personal Protective Equipment to Kamuzu Central Hospital.

According to iMoSyS Managing Director Mayamiko Nkoloma, the company will make another donation to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital today.

“Today we made a donation of 1,000 locally produced PPEs to Kamuzu Central Hospital in partnership with Malawi Agricultural & Industrial Investment Corporation (MAIIC). Tomorrow we are proceeding to QUEENS to donate another 1,000 PPEs for our frontline healthcare workers.

“We have produced these beautifully branded face shields in less than a week. This has given us hope that we can produce things locally as we are now living in a lockdown society where it is becoming very challenging to import things. This work has also given employment opportunity to more than 20 Youths from our Universities and also technical colleges,” Nkoloma said.

iMoSyS provides software, hardware and engineering services to enable connectivity for remote monitoring of industrial processes, infrastructure, health issues and environmental aspects.

The establishment of MAIIC is a ground-breaking partnership between Government, the private sector and international investors to play a leading role as a catalyst for socio-economic development, job and wealth creation in Malawi. Operating as a sustainable and commercially-driven entity, MAIIC has an independent board of directors, the majority of whom are from the private sector.
