Many feared dead after bus crashes into church in Kenya

NAIROBI-(MaraviPost)-At least four people have died and several others feared dead after a bush crashed into a Pentecost Church in Isiolo town on February 28, 2022.

Isiolo County Red Cross Co-ordinator, Abdikadir Ali, Confirmed the incident in a statement.

According to Ali, at least four bodies have been retrieved and among them were two adults and two children.

The lorry was reportedly cruising along the Meru-Isiolo road at a very high speed when it hit a speed bump at Subuiba junction before it lost control, Citizen Digital reported.

The church compound is also used to house a nursery school in the area and most of the victims were schoolchildren and business operators who were along the road during the incident.

Meanwhile, those that were critically injured have been rushed to hospital as operations to remove the bodies continue, and police is working on establishing the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
