Maso Awards set for November 25

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Maso Awards organisers reveal that this year’s event will take place on November 25, 2023, at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital, Lilongwe.

Chief Executive Officer of the organisers Augustine Mukisi told the news conference on Thursday that this year’s event will run under the theme, “Towards Wealth Creation and Self-Reliance through Arts”.

More than 135 artists across the country have been nominated in 35 categories.

Out of the 35 categories,32 are permanent and three are temporary and have been added to reflect the theme.

Legendary musician Sir Paul Banda is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award and Social media influencer Pemphero Mphande will receive the Maso Humanitarian Award.

Voting for the Maso Awards started on Thursday, October 26. 2023 and will close on 24th November 2023 and the voting will be done online via www.maso-awards.live,voting will be done once per day.

“Preparations are progressing well, we have added three temporary categories to reflect our theme as we do every year. The three are; Innovative Entrepreneur of the Year (honorary award), Best Corporate Event Sponsor of the Year, and Best Corporate Art Event Promoter/Procurement of the Year. The event will start at 19:00hours till 22:00hours”, explained Mukisi.

Some of the categories include; Best Artist (Female) whose nominees are Kellie Devine Njuchi, Temwa, Tuno, Leslie, and Keturah.

Best Artist (Male) has nominees, Malinga Mafia, Driemo, Zeze Kingston, Kell Kay, and Eli Njuchi.

Best song, Loss by Kell Kay ft.Hyphen and Eli Njuchi, Yabaya by Eli Njuchi ft.Yo Maps, Alamu anu by Nyasa Piano and Zeze Kingdom, Aras by Malinga Mafia, and POPO by Driemo.

Best Gospel act; Shammah Vocals, Stevie Muliya, Faith Mussah, Wendy Harawa, and Theresa Phodo.

Best Collaboration; Loss by Kell Kay ft.Hyphen and Eli Njuchi, Male by Wikise ft.Don Kalonga,Chule by Zeze Kingston and Afana Ceez ft.Tuno,Leumus and VJ Ice,Two Two (Remix) by Adfest and Kineo ft.Kell Kay.

Best Album; Mzaliwa by Driemo, Ah Yami by Saint, The Queen by Kellie Devine, A Quest for Charisma by Charisma and Quest, Keturah by Keturah.

Maso Awards organisers have partnered with the following; Zodiak, Sound Addicts, Ad City, Marketing Machines, Kweza Arts, Tecno, Mpaso Housing, Epic, Gold Mountain Media, Inquest, and CTS Couriers.
