CALIFORNIA-(MaraviPost)-About 200,000 people have been displaced from their homes and several others in the dark across Northern California.
Hurricane-force wind that is fuelling the wildfire has left about 54,000 acres of land ablaze and several other structures destroyed. In response to the disaster, the governor of California, Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency as the wind fuelling the fire still remains “unprecedented”.
Mr Newsom toldThe New York Times that they are deploying every resource available, and are coordinating with numerous agencies as they continue to respond to the fires.
Two hospitals have been closed down in Santa Rosa and sent about 100 patients to nearby facilities where they are seeking shelter.
“Our priority is the safety of our patients, employees and clinicians”, said Sutter hospital spokesperson as having been quoted by The New York Times.
Pacific gas and Electric has in returned has notified about 500, 000 customers of the possibility of blackouts to ensure the safety of the public.
