MDF impersonator Headson Kenan Billiati arrested for duping job seekers

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Defence Force (MDF) and Police Service’ joint operation has led to the arrest of Headson Kenan Billiati from Machinga on allegations that he is part of a syndicate that was duping young people by promising them jobs in the military.

Mzuzu Police Spokesperson Paul Tembo confirmed the arrest of Billiati at the Mzuzu Shopping Mall and investigations to trace his co-accused persons have also been launched.

Tembo told The Maravi Post that the suspect has been collecting money from people in exchange for recruitment in the military.

“The time of his arrest, Billiati was found with MK350, 462.78 in his Airtel money mobile wallet,” says the police publicist

This publication understands that there have been announcements on social media calling for young people to undergo military training in some MDF formations in the country, reports which the army has been refuting.
