Memo to Msonda: Tone down your Anti-Gay Rhetoric before ICC comes for you

2 Min Read

Kenneth Msonda we love you. You have made politics in Malawi more of an entertaining sport. However your rantings on Gays while popular by many un-informed people in the country are now being noticed by groups who like to use African savages like you as an example how they are keeping order in Africa.

Maybe you have heard of the ICC. A court the West created to intimidate African leaders. If your rants  ‘Kill Gays’ end up causing a death whether by your Panga wielding hands or by one of your unhinged supporters, guess who will be coming for you? It sure will not be the Malawi Government who you have managed to intimidate but the ICC. The western arm of the law will find you Now that the Office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights said to be concerned by developments in Malawi that could stoke anti-gay sentiment, including incitement to murder.

The UN has expressed fears the decision by Malawi’s chief prosecutor to drop charges against you, Kenneth Msonda accused of inflammatory statements against gays and lesbians could have serious consequences. In Plain English in Case you need help, they are alerting you that they haul your behind to The Hague. I hate the ICC but friend your Facebook rantings have almost made me like the ICC and what it stands for.

The UN has noted that you Kenneth Msonda spokesman for Peoples Party on several occasions, described gay and lesbian people as “worse than dogs” and called for them to be killed. If someone does take your words literally, be assured your will end up somewhere in The Hague.

The UN has noted that a criminal case was subsequently lodged against People’s Party spokesman Kenneth Msonda by two civil society organizations, charging you with inciting others to break the law.

But, U.N. Human Rights spokesman Rupert Colville says the director of public prosecutions Mary Kachale decided to discontinue the case on Thursday, one day before you were due to appear before the Blantyre Magistrate Court.

“We are concerned that the failure to prosecute this case sends a dangerous message that inciting others to kill gay people is legitimate and will be tolerated by the authorities—in effect encouraging violent threats and attacks on the gay and lesbian community in Malawi,” said Colville.

So Kenneth Msonda take note. The UN has joined the debate and they are now keeping notes. Do not be surprised when your words are used as evidence against you by an ICC prosecutor not Mary Kachale who you have managed to intimidate.
