LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Member of Parliament for Kasungu South, Simplex Chithyola, who is also the current Minister of Finance, is set to face his Malawi Congress Party (MCP) opponents during the party’s primaries.
The Primary elections for the Kasungu South constituency are currently taking place at Chigodi Community Stadium ground in
Traditional Authority(T/A) Nsanthe.
The candidates which are contesting are Simplex Chithyola, Joseph Manguluti, and Vassco Mtunduwatha Chimbalu.
Over 2000 people are expected to vote in these elections.
This is the second time the sitting member of Parliament to be tested by the party, as he once contested for the Secretary General during the Malawi Congress Party convention, which emerged Chimwendo Banda as the winner.
