MULANJE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi police in Mulanje this week jailed a 14 year-old boy (name withheld), for allegedly defiling an embicile.
According to the victim’s mother, (name withheld), said her daughter went missing on Tuesday, June 29 and reappeared the following day.
Mulanje police publicist Gresham Ngwira, told The Maravi Post that when the girl returned home, she told her mother that she was at a rest house at Mathambi trading center with the said boy, where the later defiled her.
Upon hearing the girls’s ordeal, the mother reported the issue at Mathambi police unit. This impelled the police to arrest the accused.
“Currently, investigations are under way and when complete, the accused will appear in court to answer to an offence of defilement of an imbecile, which is contrary to section 139 of the Penal Code.
“The police are therefore appealing to the public to be responsible enough by ensuring that all people are given the protection they deserve,”
The teeneger comes from Mpaso village, Senior Chief Mabuka in the district.
