LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed Milca Chimbanga Manyozo as Director of Information and Deogratias Mmana as Director of Government Communication Services in the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology.

Manyozo, who previously served as Chief Information Officer in the ministry, expressed gratitude for the appointment, pledging to execute her duties with diligence, professionalism, and patriotism.

“I am deeply humbled by this appointment, and I assure the appointing authorities that I will serve the nation to the best of my ability, upholding professionalism and commitment for the overall development of the country,” she said.

Manyozo commended President Mutharika for promoting women to senior leadership positions, describing the decision as a strong signal in the fight against gender inequality.

“This appointment demonstrates the President’s confidence in women’s leadership and serves as motivation for many women to work hard and aspire to decision-making positions,” she added.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the Ministry of Information, Manyozo brings extensive expertise in public information management and government communication.

Mmana, on the other hand, previously worked with The Times Group as Bureau and Programmes Manager for the Central and Northern regions and Assistant Editor for the Investigations Desk.

The appointments are seen as a boost to women’s leadership in Malawi, aligning with the government’s efforts to promote gender equality.

President Mutharika’s administration has been working to strengthen communication and information dissemination, and these appointments are expected to enhance the government’s outreach and engagement with citizens.

Manyozo and Mmana are expected to play key roles in shaping the country’s communication strategy and promoting government initiatives.

Their appointments reflect the President’s commitment to merit-based appointments and promoting experienced professionals to leadership positions.
