Another case of Covid 19 has been recorded in the northern City of Mzuzu.

Minister of Health and Population, Jappie Mhango, made the revelation at a press briefing  at Mzuzu Central Hospital today.

According to Mhango, the patient is Malawian lady aged 35 from Chiputula in the City, who had a contact with the Malawi’s first Covid 19 case reported at Kaliyeka in Lilongwe a couple of weeks ago. The patient has no external travel history; it’s a local transmission.

The Minister added the lady was on self quarantine and was being followed by healthcare workers.

Meanwhile, the minister says healthcare workers are tracing contacts of the victim to test them for Coronavirus.

This, therefore, means as of today, the country has a total of 38 COVID-19 cases. Among them, nine have recovered, three died of the disease and 26 are under healthcare management and are clinically stable
