MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Supporters of Arsenal F.C. in the Northern Region say they will hold a celebratory parade on May 30 this year to mark the club’s triumph as champions of English Premier League (EPL) after waiting 22 years for the title.
Chairperson of the supporters’ club in the North, Ronald Thews Kasanga, told local media that the fans will parade around the city of Mzuzu before concluding the celebrations at Chris Garden, where there will be entertainment, food, and drinks.
“We want all Gunners supporters to gather together after the parade so that we can eat and celebrate as we wait for the final match of the UEFA Champions League Final against Paris Saint-Germain F.C.. We hope to win this trophy as well, and we want to experience it together as supporters,” said Kasanga.
He added that arrangements have already been made for fans to watch the final match on a big screen while cheering on their team to win the trophy for the first time.
Arsenal secured EPL championship on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, when their closest challengers, Manchester City, were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth.
The Gunners last won the EPL title in the 2003/04 season under former manager Arsène Wenger, when the club famously completed the league campaign unbeaten, earning the nickname ‘The Invincibles.’
Since then, the club’s supporters around the world have waited more than two decades to celebrate another league championship, making this year’s success particularly emotional for fans in Malawi and beyond.
