Somalia’s car bombing claims 76 lives

MOGADISHU-(MaraviPost)-At least 76 people so far have been reported to have been killing with several others severely injured as a result of car bombing in Mogadishu outside a tax collection centre in Somalia.

Authorities have confirmed the incident that has claimed the lives of many people including university students.

“I saw many dead bodies lying on the ground, some of those dead were police officers, but most of them were students,” said one of people who witnessed the tragedy.

No one has claimed to be responsible for the deadly attack yet but most people believe the Al-Shabab extremist group might be behind this new attack.

The group that is now able to make several explosive weapons of their choice was behind the truck bombing in Mogadishu in October 2017 that killed more than 500 people.

One of the survivors of the tragedy has likened the attack to the one that took place in 2017.

“This explosion is similar like the one in 2017. This one occurred just a few steps away from where I am and it knocked me on the ground from its force. I have never seen such a explosion in my entire life,” he said.
