LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has denied the request by the area 30 outfit Blue Eagles FC to delay their day 24 fixture against Civil Service United which is slated for Wednesday, May 19,2022 at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.
As per letter which SULOM has written Blue Eagles FC signed by their General Secretary Williams Banda indicates the tight schedule of the 2022 fixtures and calendar as one of the reason for their response to Eagle’s request.
According to week 7 fixture, the current league leaders, Blue Eagles FC, are expected to play Dedza Dynamos at Balaka Stadium on Sunday, May 15,2022 and play Civil Service United on Wednesday at Nankhaka Stadium which the cops through their Chairman Alexander Ngwala feels it’s not ideal for the healthy of the players and the competition.
As per letter rendered to SULOM, Blue Eagles FC indicated the following reasons for their request: The fixture on Wednesday falls too close to Sunday away game which is a practical trap to disturb performance, they are not behind other teams on the log table in terms of the number of games played to be given a midweek fixture, the fixture on Wednesday will deny opportunity for Micium Mhone, Schumacher Kuwali and Gaddie Chirwa to concentrate on National team preparations and Civil Service United and Blue Eagles FC are big teams and can draw revenue if properly scheduled.
Blue Eagles FC are currently leading the table with 25 points from 9 games ahead of defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets FC with 2 points who have also played the same number of games.
