Airtel Yabeba’s MK5m Grand Prize goes to Mzuzu’s Mchengautuba casual labour Mafumbo Banda

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Mzuzu’s Mchengautuba casual labor has been emerged as a Airtel Yabeba promotion’s MK5 million grand prize.

During the final draw of the promotion conducted on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in the capital Lilongwe, Mafumbo Banda aged 35 was over the moon when got call from Airtel official informing him of the good news of winning the prize.

Banda who is into piecework as source of income into expressed happiness over the prize saying will venture into business.

Airtel Malawi Marketing Director Thokozani Sande said the cash prizes the company has given out amount to MK98 million.

Sande was delighted and proud of how the prizes given out over the course of the draw have changed lives of the winners in form of school fees and capital for business.

She cited Mulanje’s weekly MK1 million winner who went straight to buy food after winning the money and two students who said they will use the money to pay school fees.

Sande further said that the promotion has helped Airtel to engage with its customers.

“As Airtel, we continue to service customers and add more coverage so that more Malawians can be connected. We are always there to make sure that our customers are happy and we engage them,” said Sande.

Licensing Manager for National Lotteries Board Miriam Kumbuyo said the promotion was conducted in a free and fair manner and all people who won have been given their prizes.

“We have checked and we have not found any problem with the promotion,” said Kumbuyo.

Airtel Yabeba promotion was rolled out on May 13, 2021 and it ended on August 15. Over the weeks, 48 customers from 22 districts across the country won MK1 million each. Thousands of customers also won various cash prizes.

Kasungu’s Airtel Yabeba winner Solomon Charles smiles at MK1 million

KASUNGU-(MaraviPost)-There was tears of joy for Kasungu businessman on Friday, August 5, 2021 when Airtel Malawi presented a MK1 million prize after emerged as one the four lucky the winners in the sixth draw of the promotion.

Solomon Charles from Traditional Authority (T.A) Kawamba told reporters that he was delighted for the money presentation saying he was not expecting to win.

Solomon however noted that people get suspicious when contacted by Airtel due to fear of fraudsters but he never doubted.

“I will invest the money in my business and will also buy cattle,” said Charles who buys and resells groundnuts.

Airtel Acting Marketing Director Thokozani Sande said the promotion is running smoothly as the company has seen new customers coming in adding that have been with the company for a long time have also been participating.

“In December last year we had close to 5 million customers and we now have about 5.5 million customers on our network,” said Sande.

On fraud, she said Airtel only contacts customers using +265121. According to Sande, if customers get a call from a different number telling them about winning a promotion, the customer should know that the caller is not from Airtel.

She added that Airtel acts on reports of fraud by working with the police who investigate and prosecute suspects.

So far Airtel has conducted 11 draws in the Yabeba Promotion which will run up to August 15, 2021.

About MK44 million has been given out to 44 winners remaining with two draws.

Two primary school teachers smile at MK1m in Airtel Yabeba promotion

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Two primary school teachers on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 were over the moon when got call that won MK1 million in an ongoing Airtel Yabeba promotion.

During the 9th draw conducted virtually at Airtel Headquarters in the capital Lilongwe two teachers from Rumphi and Machinga became two of the four millionaires.

The duo including Elizabeth Mshali, a Standard 4 teacher at Chanyoli Primary School in Rumphi and Sylvester Manahata, a Standard 7 teacher from Ulongwe 1 Primary School at Ulongwe in Machinga were in a shock over the prize.

The other winners were a cane cutting contractor, Patrick Njobvu from Ngabu in Chikwawa and Frank Male from Nkhotakota.

For the past two draws, two millionaires have emerged from the lake shore district of Nkhotakota where last week’s winner was a housewife, Maneno Aisa..

“I am happy to be a lucky winner and I will share some of my cash with relatives and friends. I will give some to my church,” excited Mshali.

Airtel Malawi’s PR, Communications & CSR Manager Norah Chirwa said it has been satisfying to witness how Airtel Yabeba promotion was transforming lives of our customers.

Chirwa disclosed that Yabeba Promotion has created 36 millionaires while 2,250 winners went away with K10, 000 each and 100 winners have pocketed MK100, 000 each.

She said Airtel has so far disbursed MK68.5 million to its valued customers.

The Final draw for the top prize of MK5million is slated for August 15, 2021.

Gender parity in 8th draw of Airtel Yabeba promotion

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Gender parity took a centre stage Tuesday morning during the eight draw of Airtel Yabeba promotion and three lakeshore districts dominated the top winners.

The draw was conducted virtual at Airtel Headquarters in Lilongwe saw four customers winning top prizes of weekly draw of MK1 million each.

Two ladies from Salima and Nkhotakota and two men from Mzuzu and Mangochi were made instant millionaires.

The winners in the eighth draw including Chikombe in Salima, Tomato seller, Adidya Samuel, Icra Kazembe fish seller from Maldeco Mangochi, Mzuzu based shop keeper, Smith Phiri and Nkhotakota based housewife, Maneno Aisa

During the draw, 250 customers went away with MK10, 000 cash each.  

“I cannot be happy since I have not received the cash. I will be extremely happy once I have the cash in my hands,” Aisa reacted after being informed of her winning million kwacha cash.

She said she would decide what to do with it since she was a housewife.

Shopkeeper, Phiri said, “Oh! Oh! Oh! I am happy that I am one of the lucky winners of this week’s weekly draw of Airtel Yabeba promotion.”

He urged Airtel customers to continue topping up their phone in order to stand a chance to be lucky winners in the coming draws.

Airtel Malawi tricksters alert in Yabeba promotion: As Kasungu nurse wins MK1 million

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The country’s leading smartphone network provider Airtel Malawi is warning its customer to be on alert against tricksters in the on going Airtel Yabeba promotion.

Airtel Malawi’s Acting Marketing manager Thokozani Kamkodo Sande told The Maravi Post that subscribers must always check with the company’s right call code number +265121 for any communication regarding to the promotion.

The warning comes amid fraudulent individuals claiming to be manning the promotion aimed at stealing from the public.

She was speaking after the competition’s sixth draw which was held virtually on Tuesday.

Sande however said some customers are still having doubts over the promotion.

“We are still having issues of customers worrying about fraud but if customers see the number +265121 then they should know it’s us,” Sande said.

During the draw witnessed a Nurse, Nyayele Mhango, works at Chaluluma Rural Hospital in Kasungu who could not believe that she won MK1million in the promotion.

Mhango could not believe her luck when she got the call from Airtel.

“I am speechless, I was not expecting to win such money,” excited Mhango.

Three other people also won K1 million each but their phones could not be reached.So far, 24 millionaires have been made through the promotion and 1,500 people have won MK10,000 each

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The on going Airtel Yabeba promotion continues to excite the smartphone network provider Airtel Malawi’s customers with 16 millionaires in four weeks on running.

This week’s virtual draw on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 witnessed three men and a lady walking away with MK1 million each.

To stand a chance of winning cash prizes in the promotion, Airtel Malawi subscribers only need to recharge with at least MK200 of airtime in a week.

The promotion was launched on May 12 this year as one way of celebrating reaching the five million subscribers mark last December.

The promotion will run for 12 weeks from May 13th to August 15th and will reward 48 lucky customers with MK1 million each and a grand prize of MK5 million.
