The Flames to get Ebola screening after Mali game

MZUZU (MaraviPost) — The Malawi government has hinted it will conduct Ebola virus medical screening on the country’s national team, The Flames, when they come from Mali – where they left Tuesday for a football match.

Ministry of Health spokesperson Henry Chimbali said the exercise will be one way of making sure that the virus is contained.

Much as no case has been reported in Mali, the country is a West African country, the region where the virus has claimed at least 2, 000 lives.

“The screening will help in checking whether they are infected or not,” said Chimbali.

He added: “Government will do it to avoid further spread of the virus.”

Malawi will play Mali Saturday as part of their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers escapades.
