TNM rewards Big Bullets K1M for achieving 100,000 SMS mark

TNM has rewarded Big Bullets FC K1 million for becoming the first team to achieve the 100,000 SMS mark under its Sapota Mapeto promotion.

The promotion aims to generate income for clubs through SMS from fans of teams competing in the TNM Super League, the country’s elite football sponsorship.

Apart from the money that they generate from the SMS’s in this year’s promotion, TNM put an extra bonus of K1 million to be awarded to any first team that would be the first to hit the 100,000 SMS milestone.

Speaking during the 3rd draw of Sapota Mapeto Promotion in Blantyre, TNM Marketing Manager Madalitso Jonazi commended the spirit of support demonstrated by Big Bullets supporters and encouraged other clubs to follow suit.

“Big Bullets has generated 123,501 SMS’s within a period of six weeks and this is an encouraging record for them. Overall we’re excited that football fans are playing their part to support their respective clubs,” said Jonazi.

Big Bullets Marketing Official Dan Mbebuwa expressed happiness for hitting the 100,000 SMS’s target success attributing this to the team’s marketing drive on Sapota Mapeto.

“At bullets we took an initiative to woo our supporters to participate in the promotion by the way of giving out fliers  of Sapota mapeto during games and we have also a   radio program at Matindi FM that talks of the promotion only that has helped us to reach our supporters across the country,” he said.

Currently from the SMS’s generated Big Bullets has a total revenue collected of K3.4 million seconded by their rivals Mighty Wanderers with K1.7 million and silver strikers with over K500, 000. 

During the third draw customers went away with different prizes which include, cell phones, branded vuvuzelas, megaphones and replica jerseys.

To participate in the promotion TNM customer need to send code of his football team SMS to 1515.The cost of SMS is k40 in which 70 percent of it goes to the club.

The TNM Sapota Mapeto promotion which was launched in July this year will run up to January 25, 2015.
