MWANZA-(MaraviPost)-Sombre mood engulfed Mwanza border as the remains of Khatimu Anafi a Malawian national who was killed by unidentified truck in the early hours of Wednesdays October 2nd ,2019 at Mussacama in Mozambique have finally arrived at Mwanza border
Mwanza border spokesperson Pasqually Zulu for the brief facts on the matter indicates that he left Malawi on Tuesday evening in their way to South Africa, whilst in transit they opted to sleep at Mussacana trading centre with plans to proceed this morning
Fearing battery theft at the trading centre he opted to sleep outside the cargo truck where other truck drivers also parked
It is further reported that due to rain showers, he slept close to rear trailer tyres of the nearby truck, and this morning his colleagues upon realising that all the other trucks have left.
Sadly they found him dead with his head completely damaged beyond recognition.
Efforts are still underway by Mozambican security personnel to identify the details of both the truck and the driver
Currently the remains have been handed over to Mwanza District Hospital officials.
Late khatim Hanafi comes from Kassim Village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Chowe in Mangochi district, he was using passport number MA 959576 issued on 16th January, 2018 and will expire on 15th January, 2028
