LUSAKA-(MaraviPost)-The Zambia Ministry of Finance has disclosed that President Hakainde Hichilema has gone eight months without government salary since voted into power.

Asked why? Ministry of Finance sources said that each time efforts to pay the President are made.

Hakainde Hichilema refuses payment

Hakainde said; “Let’s focus on working for the people of Zambia. It is service to the people and not self-service”.

Hichilema has also maintained his position that he does not want to be given thousands of titles such as His Excellency but that he would rather be addressed as Mr President.

Asked why? Sources stated that such titles breed dictators and worshiping of people and that the titles are not the ones that deliver work but oneself, adding that clamour for titles may be taken for an inferiority complex.

During his opposition days, Koswe recalls that Hichilema made it clear that he was not seeking public office to make himself rich but to work for the people of Zambia including correcting and repairing the so much damaged economy.
