Few people associate eyeglasses with cutting-edge innovations. After all, as cars grow greener and smartphones get smarter, eyewear seems relatively unchanged. This assumption is dead wrong, as opticians and materials scientists are pushing the boundaries of what glasses can do. Here are five examples of high-tech eyewear already available or on the horizon.
1. Autofocus lens
Autofocus lenses currently in development allow you to adjust the power of your medications. Although these changes are small, the technology can make life easier for people with vision problems, such as presbyopia. Somehow, the sensor measures the distance between the pupils to determine when someone is trying to focus on a nearby object. The current affects the liquid crystal layer of the lens. This changes the refractive index of Ultra-futuristic eyewear that resonates with your eyes.
2. Ballistic glasses
Most sunglasses are durable enough for everyday use and can withstand scratches and dents. Non-gun goggles are a stronger option for those who need extra protection, like police and military personnel. This lens protects the high velocity of small projectiles, which is important to protect your eyes from debris. Without ballistic lenses, people who constantly put themselves in danger can be especially prone to eye injuries. Many stores sell sunglasses, sunglasses and sunglasses with a wide range of quality.
3. Augmented reality glasses
Smartphone apps have been making use of augmented reality, or AR, for years. 4. Athletic Performance glasses
If necessary is the mother of invention, it’s no surprise that sports eyewear is at the forefront of eyewear improvement. 5. Gold coated astronaut visor
The location is not easy on the eyes. Astronauts wear large space shields and helmets to protect against vacuum, low temperatures and power failures. It is therefore not surprising that the star of the visor has opened up new horizons in eyewear technology.
The astronaut visor helmet is covered with hot foil, which not only looks cool, but also protects your eyes from most UV rays. The visor reflects light but does not allow heat to escape into space, providing comfortable space in the spacesuit.
Scientists have to worry about micrometeoroids, small rocks, and debris shattering their helmets at high speeds (think thousands of miles per hour). Although the world is unlikely to need this level of protection, UV filter technology has been used on many sunglasses.
