Central Region Youth Football Committee has organised a 2019 football season postmortem meeting to be held in Lilongwe at Mchesi Primary School on Saturday, January 25, 2020.

General Secretary for the committee Patrick Siliya confirmed the plan saying will give them a chance to review how all the youth football competitions were run last season and see the way forward.

Siliya also disclosed that postmortem is to introduce a top eight cup which will involve those teams that finished in the top eight in the 2019 First Capital U20 League.

He said, “This meeting is a routine exercise which we normally do at the end of each and every football season; the reason is to establish the successes, weaknesses, challenges, and what we can do in future.

“Otherwise, we also thought it is important to introduce the top eight competition to keep our boys busy as they wait for the season to kick off in March, 2020.

“We will review both First Capital U20 and Presidential Initiative on Sport U17 League and many other youth football competitions that we had in 2019 including a discussion on the top eight cup.”

According to the committee, the following are allowed to attend the meeting this Saturday; team officials, referees, administrators, the Central Region Youth Football Committee members, and many others.
