Anglican Diocese launches Savings Ministry to empower congregants

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire has launched the Savings Ministry, a program designed to economically empower its congregants.

Speaking during the program launch in Zomba on Monday,Bishop William Mchombo,said the initiative, in partnership with Five Talents, a UK-based organization, will train congregants in agribusiness, entrepreneurship, and savings group management.

He emphasized the importance of churches addressing citizens’ physical needs

On her part,congregant Winnie Sadyalunda welcomed the program, saying it addresses pressing financial challenges.

The program will benefit 19 parishes in its first year, as part of a three-year initiative.
