Police in Kirinyaga County have arrested a 45-year-old woman who allegedly killed her 47-year-old husband, Charles Murimi and 13-year-old daughter on Friday morning.
Ndia Police Boss, Joseph Mwika confirmed the incident to Daily Nation.
Reports have revealed that Naomi Wanjiku, an executive officer at Karatina Law Courts hacked her husband at 4am on Friday and, thereafter, fatally attacked her daughter at the couple’s home in Kioru Village in Ndia Constituency.
After killing the two, Wanjiku went to her son’s house, Felix Njine who confronted her after she claimed she wanted to kill everyone in the family. The son repeatedly managed to disarm his mother before she fled the scene and when the neighbours who rushed to the scene, they were met by lifeless bodies of father and daughter.
According to Mwika, the suspect has been in hiding ever since and today she was found hiding in a bush at Karima village and was seized by police.
Meanwhile, investigations have been launched to establish the motive behind the killings and she is expected to face murder charges once the investigations are complete.
