BLANTYRE(MaraviPost)—Blue Eagles on Saturday maintained the top position in the TNM Super League after thumping city rivals Epac FC 3-1 at the Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
Eagles, who toppled Moyale Barracks from the top position of the league last weekend after beating Blantyre United, sent a strong
message to fellow title contenders Bullets and Moyale as they outclassed the Dean Josiah boys, alias Njenjete Za Ku Lilongwe, in all
departments.
The game was expected to be tough but Epac were on the back foot as Eagles controlled the affairs from the word go up to the last whistle.
The result means the police outfit and Bullets have 40 points but are separated by goal difference. However, Eagles have played a game more (20) than Bullets.
The race at the top is likely to be tight again as the third placed Moyale, who have 37 points, will have a simple job tomorrow as they
are facing out-of-form Karonga United.
The win will give the Kani ng’ina soldiers a chance to depose Bullets from second position.
In other games, Mafco beat their brothers in arm Airborne Rangers 3-1 at Chitowe Stadium while Bullets walloped their old arch rivals Mighty
Wanderers at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
