ADDIS ABABA-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera on Thursday evening, February 3, 2022 arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he is scheduled to participate in the 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union, which will take place from February 4 to February 6, 2022.
Upon arrival, Chakwera was warmly welcomed at Bole International Airport by Foreign Affairs Minister Honorable Nancy Tembo, and Minister of Culture and Sports of Ethiopia Kejela Merdassa.
The two Cabinet Ministers were accompanied by Benard Sande, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malawi, Charles Msosa, Ambassador of Malawi to Ethiopia, and permanent representative to the AU UNECA, Ambassador Birtucan Ayano, State Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia and Ambassador Mehereteab Mulugeta, Chief of Cabinet in the Office of Foreign Minister.
Among others, the AU Summit will deliberate on climate change, efforts in combating COVID-19, trade, investment, peace, security and governance and health and nutrition.
