Charles Mchacha urges Kasungu residents to join DPP at rally

By Burnett Munthali

During the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) rally held in Kasungu, Honorable Charles Mchacha, the party’s Director of Operations, made a passionate appeal to the people of Kasungu to join the DPP, stating that it is the only party with clear policies aimed at improving their livelihoods.

Addressing a large crowd of party supporters and residents, Mchacha emphasized that the DPP has a proven track record of delivering development projects that benefit the people, in contrast to the current government, which he said has failed to bring about meaningful change.

In his speech, Mchacha used the traditional tale of Amlamba to deliver a strong message about the importance of listening to wise counsel. The tale describes a situation where Amlamba, a mythical creature, refused to heed advice to move away from a dangerous fire that had been set to clear the bushes, only to be consumed by the flames. Drawing from this story, Mchacha urged the people of Kasungu not to ignore the signs of failure in the current government.

“Don’t be like Amlamba, who did not listen and ended up perishing in the fire. The Congress party has rotted from the inside, and if you stay with them, you will only suffer more. The DPP is the only party with the vision and ability to rescue Malawi from the current hardships,” Mchacha warned.

Mchacha laid out several reasons why the people of Kasungu should support the DPP. He highlighted the party’s past achievements, such as infrastructure development, agricultural support, and the creation of jobs. According to him, the DPP has always prioritized the welfare of Malawians and remains committed to lifting them out of poverty.

He further criticized the ruling party, Congress, for what he called its lack of direction and failure to improve the lives of ordinary Malawians. “The Congress party has become rotten, and it is no longer capable of leading this country. They have failed you, and they will continue to fail you. But the DPP is here to bring real change,” Mchacha declared.

Mchacha’s message was clear: the people of Kasungu need to act now and align themselves with the DPP to ensure a better future. He urged them to spread the word about the DPP’s vision and policies, encouraging others to join the party and prepare for the 2025 elections.

“Let us work together to build a better Malawi. The DPP has the experience, the leadership, and the policies to make this country prosper. We need your support, and together, we can make Malawi great again,” he said, concluding his speech to loud applause.

The rally in Kasungu, led by the DPP’s regional leadership, was a powerful demonstration of the party’s efforts to mobilize support across the Central Region. With Hon. Charles Mchacha’s passionate appeal, the DPP aims to consolidate its base in Kasungu and beyond, positioning itself as the party of choice for Malawians seeking genuine development and progress.
