…..Chakwera presented lies of completed projects in Parliament……
LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Senior Chief Mlonyeni of Mchinji has called on the new government of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to arrest and prosecute all Malawi Congress Party (MCP) leaders who faked projects that they are existing on the ground while not on the basis of corruption.
Chief Mlonyeni has further accused the Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) of not investigating corruption activities in his area after the Bureau was asked to do that on Member of Parliament for the area Deus Gumba.
He said the ACB by not coming to his area to investigate the corruption reported has put the record straight that the Bureau only arrest suspects who have committed minor offences than those involved in billions of Kwachas corruption scam.
Speaking through a video clip, Chief Mlonyeni has demanded his hospital back to his headquarters as agreed by the Area Development Committee (ADC) and not for it to be constructed at the area chosen by their Member of Parliament Deus Gumba.
He has accused Gumba and two MCP councilors of his area of favoring development projects to be implemented in their areas of choice without his involvement as the custodian of the land.
The chief has claimed that construction of a rural hospital at his headquarters will offer the people of Kamphale, Chiuta, and other surrounding areas a relief to the distance they cover to the hospital to access medical help than at Kafulama.
He has questioned the government on why there is selective application of justice in the country which has only seen suspects who have stolen chickens imprisoned than those who have stolen billions of Kwachas.
” I cannot accept my people to be suffering because one is doing corruption to benefit himself and his family,” he said.
The chief has again invited the ACB to go to Chiute, Msadabwe, Pinda, Tembwe, Gumulire to investigate corruption initiated projects in his area for justice to be seen.
Chief Mlonyeni has finally alerted government that his people have suffered a lot as they have been sidelined in development projects saying there only hope is in the new government to rescue them from the suffering.
Memories are still fresh that former President Lazarus Chakwera presented in the National Assembly a list of completed projects his government implemented in 5 years but this was proved to be the opposite.
The claimed projects were not existing on the ground, some not completed and others abandoned forcing Chakwera to go back to Parliament to withdraw his State of the Nations Address with billions and billions of Kwachas entering into the crooked pockets of MCP officials.
