DODOMA-(MaraviPost)-China has commended Tanzania for the displayed readiness to dispatch doctors to China to offer support in attempt to curb coronavirus.
Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania, Ms Wang Ke revealed this in a media briefing on the novel virus.
According to Ms Ke, she has been thrilled by President John Magufuli’s offer to dispatch doctors to help fight the virus in China at any time.
As reported by Tanzania Daily News, Wang added that some medical doctors in Tanzania have also written letters personally to the Chinese Embassy in Dar es Salaam expressing willingness to offer their assistance in China and she had been overwhelmed by the touching and encouraging words from their Tanzanian friends in support of the on-going efforts to tackle the deadly virus.
Ms Ke also said that there were more than 40,000 healthcare workers in Hubei and whenever there would be a shortage they would be pleased to invite doctors from outside China.
During the media briefing, Ms Ke assured families and parents of 400 Tanzanian students in Wuhan province where the virus originated that they were safe and free from the virus.
She has however advised people to protect themselves and prevent the spread of the virus by practising personal hygiene.
