CHRR, YaS challenge Malawians on insightful leader to vote for

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-The Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) and the Youth and Society (YAS) are urging Malawians to make critical decisions as we are remaining with a day to vote.

Addressing the news conference on Sunday, June 21, 2020 YAS’ executive director Charles Kajoloweka said that as governance watchdogs is necessary to advise people on voting.

“Malawi is on a critical condition that requires critical decisions to be made in order to change,” That’s why we have come in open to urge Malawian’s on this,he added.

On his remarks, CHRR’s Executive director Micheal Kayiyatsa said after Kenya, Malawi is second to hold fresh elections “which means that it’s time to change”.

Kayiyatsa urged security agents Malawi Defence Force (MDF), Malawi police to be professional during the polls.

“As CHRR we are urging Malawian’s to vote for leaders who will move this country forward because without our Malawi will continue to languish “.

“We will continue to hold arguments accountable for those who will be voted into power when they don’t fulfill their promises made during campaign days, we need to make a change”, he added.

Malawi on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 will hold fresh presidential elections following February 3, 2020′ Constitutional Court (ConCourt) nullification of May 21, 2020 polls.
