Bishop Malasa tussles with excommunicated member Kishindo

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-It never rains but pours for the embattled Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire, Reverend Brighton Vita Malasa in whom church members are no longer interested.

According to a letter that one of the excommunicated members, Professor Paul Kishindo, has written to the Reverend Malasa, the decision which Reverend Malasa made to suspend Professor Kishindo and twenty other members was so stupid that it cannot go unnoticed.

“As a matter of principle, I refrain from engaging in arguments with intellectual midgets ; but your recent pranks in which you purport to have excommunicated me and more than twenty others from the Anglican Church is so blatantly stupid that it cannot go without comment.” Reads the letter in part.

Two weeks ago, Reverend Malasa wrote a letter of excommunication of some members of the Church until further notice on disciplinary grounds.

On Friday last week, members of Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire convened at the Headquarters of the church in Chilema, Zomba to hold vigils aimed at forcing the Reverend to step down from the leadership of the church for gross mismanagement.
