Convicted Malawi Catholic priest Thomas Muhosha gone mad in jail

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A Catholic Priest Father Thomas Muhosha who is serving a 30 years jail term for the gruesome murder of MacDonald Masambuka (a boy with albinism) in 2018 is reported to have gone mad at Zomba Prison.

Blantyre Prison Spokesperson Duncan Malizani confirmed of Muhosha’s condition with the press on Monday July 11, 2022.

Malizani said currently authorities are monitoring Muhosha while he is being treated for his mental disorder.

“Yes, he is not well. He is showing all signs and symptoms of mental disorder. Currently authorities are monitoring him while he is being treated,” said Malizani.

Muhosha, Chikondi Chileka,, Alfred Yohane, Innocent Walasi and Mussa Lilongwe were on 27 June, 2022 sentenced to 30 years in prison by Blantyre High Court on a charge of transacting in human tissue of late Masambuka.

Masambuka went missing on March 9, 2018 and his body was later found buried in a garden on April 2, 2018 near Makawa Village, Senior Chief Mkoola in Machinga.
