Crackdown on looters: Malawi Police arrest former cabinet minister Ben Phiri

Ben Phiri arrested

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)— Immediate-past Minister of Local Government Ben Phiri has been arrested by the Fiscal Police.

MaraviPost understands that Phiri is being questioned by police in Lilongwe on offenses related to monitory dealings.

Ben Phiri became a billionaire overnight soon after his boss Peter Mutharika ascended to power in 2014.
