BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-In a bid to ensure a peaceful and harmonious electoral process, the Eastern Region police have organized a prayer session at the Zomba police college.
The move comes as Malawi prepares for the September 16, 2025, general elections.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Francis Chisoti stressed the importance of maintaining peace and order during this critical period.
“We are committed to upholding peace and stability in the region, and we urge all stakeholders to join hands with us in achieving this goal,” DCP Chisoti said.
Reverend Canon Superintendent Samuel Mejar, an Anglican priest, led the prayers and emphasized the need for unity and cooperation.
“In times of uncertainty, it’s essential that we come together and seek guidance from above,” Reverend Mejar said.
The prayer session served as a reminder to police officers of their critical role in maintaining law and order during the elections.
