ACCRA-(MaraviPost)-A Ghanaian Court has sentenced a 22-year-old phone repairer to 14 years imprisonment for sharing nude pictures of Lebanese woman on social media.
The prosecutor in charge of the case, Chief Inspector Maxwell Lanyo, said the verdict was passed after a number of court appearance and witnesses from both parties.

Prior to the verdict, the convict was contracted to unlock the phone of the victim before he accessed and retrieved her intimate photos illegally.
According to Ghana News Agency (GNA), the young man attempted to blackmail the woman, threatening to publicize her nude photos unless she paid him an undisclosed amount of money. The woman reportedly did not comply instead, she blocked the man.
Following the encounter, the victim approached an Information Technology (IT) specialist and lodged a complaint again the convict which led to his arrest.
The convict, Solomon Doga, pleaded guilty to charges of sexual extortion and non-consensual sharing of intimate images but asked the court for forgiveness.
The court presided over by Sedinam Awo Balokah sentenced him to 12 years on the charge of sexual extortion and two years on the charge of non-consensual sharing of intimate images.
The charges will run concurrently.
Ghana’s new cyber security laws criminalize publisher of the nudes for the purpose of revenge or blackmailing with a jail term of between five and 25 years.
