BLANTYRE-(MaraviPos)-Grand Palace Hotel on Wednesday donated K15 million towards the 2025 Mzuzu International Invitational Volleyball Tournament,scheduled to take place from August 8 to 10,2025,at Katoto Outdoor Courts in Mzuzu.
The tournament will feature teams from Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, and Kenya.
Speaking during the sponsorship cheque presentation ceremony, Grand Palace Hotel Finance Director,Thillina Sameer,emphasized the hotel’s commitment to giving back to the community through sports development.
“We hope that this event will not only develop volleyball but also promote the Malawi tourism industry,” said Sameer.
On his part,Volleyball Association of Malawi (VAM) President James Kaunda expressed gratitude for the hotel’s support, highlighting the benefits of international tournaments for local athletes.
“Such events provide a valuable opportunity for our athletes to learn from their foreign counterparts and improve their skills,”said Kaunda.
In his remarks,competition Organizing Committee Chairperson Killy Msukwa assured that the sponsorship funds will be used for the intended purpose, ensuring a successful tournament.
