LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Leader of Opposition in Malawi Parliament who is also opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)’ Southern region Vice President Kondwani Nankhumwa has refuted social media reports of him leaving the party to form his own grouping.

This comes barely hours after some rumored Nankhumwa party putting T-Shirts ahead of weekend political rally in the capital Lilongwe.

In an interview with MaraviPost on Friday, April 29, 2022 Nankhumwa described the rumor as propaganda from his competitors “Madala team supporters”.

Nankhumwa who is also DPP presidential aspirants says he is an open person that his political pathways are open to the public arguing that “If I wanted to form another party, the whole World would have known by now”.

He however trashed social media speculation, “Its baseless claims and hypocrites from other party team are using to bring me down”.

Nankhumwa hinted that the general public need to hear from him first before believing hearsays being advanced by his enemies and competitors in the party.

Nankhumwa is expected to hold a political rally on Sunday at Mgona ground as more than 50 DPP lawmakers endorsed him as a presidential candidate for the party come 2025, Malawi general polls.
