Kenyan man collapses later dies outside bank after developed COVID-19 symptoms

NAIROBI-(MaraviPost)-Kenyan police are investigating the mysterious death of 55 year-old Justus Kavindu who collapse when he was walking towards a stage on the Mwingi-Garrisa Road and died moments later after developing signs associated with Covid-19.

Sub-county Police Commander Peter Mutuma confirmed the incident in a statement.

According to report published by Citizen TV, the deceased had complained of breathing problems and chest pain just few minutes before he breathed his last.

The man’s daughter, Teresia Kavindu who was with her when the tragedy happened disclosed that her father had no history of epilepsy or any other disease that she knew of that could that led to his sudden demise.

The body of the deceased was transferred to Mwingi Level IV Hospital mortuary where medics reported that the deceased did not have any physical injuries.

The medical report has however revealed that some of the characteristics that the deceased disclosed to his daughter before his death are associated with individuals who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus but they can not conclude that the deceased died of coronavirus until all test results are complete.

This has come in at the time when the country is struggling in fighting the outbreak of Covid-19 virus that has so far recorded 197 cases and eight fatalities.

Meanwhile, investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of death.
