BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Country’s Consumer Association of Malawi (CAMA) has asked Multichoice, the provider of Digital Satellite Television (DSTV) and Go Tv to refund all Consumers the money they paid for products and services that the institution is currently unable to provide.

Executive Director of CAMA, John Kapito, disclosed this in a statement issued on May 8, 2020.

According to Kapito, the institution has not been able to provide live programs that their clients paid for such as sports hence they should stop collecting tariffs from consumers until they are able to provide the services.

CAMA believes that there is no justification why Consumers should continue paying for packages or bouquets that are no longer being provided and shown on the institution’s
platforms.

DSTV has therefore been demanded to reduce tariffs on those platforms the institution is unable to deliver the products or services that the Consumer paid and that

“All consumers should be refunded the money they paid since DSTV stopped providing such products or services through cash refunds or any other alternative that will be accepted by the subscribers,” demands Kapito.

There was no immediate reaction from Multichoice Malawi office on CAMA’s request on the matter.
