#Malawi Fresh polls: Chakwera leads by 62% as vote counting rages on

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Unofficial results sourced from Times TV by 6pm on June 24, 2024 shows that Dr Lazarus Chakwera of Tonse Alliance is leading with 62.% against President Peter Mutharika of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is coming on second with 34%

As only 6 districts results are left namely Mzimba, Dedza, Ntchewu, Zomba, Dowa and Nsanje.

With the margin votes Chakwera will be the winner in the polls.

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is expecting to make first official results tonight at 8pm during a press conference at Malawi College of Medicine, the main tarry centre.

Malawians went to fresh presidential polls on June 23, 2020 after February 3, 2020’s Constitutional Court (ConCourt) nullified May 21, 2019 elections.
