SALIMA (Maravi Post)—President Peter Mutharika of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has on Monday ordered Kamlepo Kaluwa who is the Rumphi East law maker as well as the deputy chairperson for Public Affairs Committee (PAC) of Parliament to bring the names of his Ministers involved
in the plundering of K236 billion.Mutharika, made the reaction during the officials opening of the Salima Sugar Factory.

According to him, Kamlepo should bring the names within 24 hours.

“I have been hearing what the deputy PAC chair has been saying about the K236 billion cash gate. He has been going in the media claiming he has the names of my seven Ministers involved in the malpractice,” said Mutharika.

“I therefore give him 24 hours to bring the names of those Ministers,” ordered Mutharika without saying the action if Kamlepo fails.

Mutharika has been pledging not to protect anyone including Ministers named in the looting of public funds at the Capitol Hill saying “the law will take its course.”

Kamlepo is yet to respond to the development but he has been insisting that the report carried by the National Audit Office have 7 names Ministers.

The outspoken law maker has been also accusing Mutharika for protecting such Ministers, apart from pressurizing the Ant Corruption Bureau (ACB) to act on it.

However, the Auditor General advised not to disclose the names of the suspects involved in the K236 cash gate by the Attorney General.

The names of Minister implicated in the list include Minister of Agriculture Dr George Chaponda and the Labor Minister Henry Mussa in just mentioning a few.
